For decades, Darryl was the heart and soul of the Wexford Agincourt Baseball League. As a coach, volunteer, mentor, executive member, and President, he dedicated countless hours to creating opportunities for young athletes and ensuring that every child had the chance to experience the game he loved.

To many, Darryl was more than a baseball coach. He was a role model, a mentor, and a friend. His commitment to youth baseball extended far beyond the diamond. He believed every child deserved the opportunity to play, learn, grow, and be part of a team, regardless of their skill level or circumstances.

Those who knew Darryl often speak about his unwavering dedication to putting players first. Whether it meant finding equipment, helping families overcome financial barriers, encouraging a struggling player, or spending long days at the ballpark, Darryl’s focus was always on creating positive experiences for children.

His impact reached thousands of players, coaches, parents, and volunteers throughout Scarborough and beyond. He championed inclusivity, supported the growth of girls’ baseball, volunteered more than 1,200 hours annually, and was recognized by the Toronto Blue Jays and Jays Care Foundation for his extraordinary service to youth baseball.

Following his sudden passing in August 2024, an overwhelming outpouring of support from the baseball community demonstrated just how many lives he had touched. Stories of kindness, generosity, mentorship, and friendship continue to be shared by those fortunate enough to have known him.

This tournament serves not only as a celebration of baseball, but as a celebration of the values Darryl embodied every day:

Sportsmanship.
Respect.
Inclusion. Community.
Opportunity for Every Player.

We are proud to dedicate this tournament to Darryl Harding and his family.
