April 2021: Wexford Agincourt baseball season update

We’d like to share with you a few important updates about our upcoming Wexford Agincourt Baseball League summer program.

At this time, current provincial stay-at-home restrictions do not allow us, or any other organization, to start our summer house league program in May as we would in a regular year. We know that this is disappointing to many of our families and young baseball stars; we’re disappointed too. But the health and safety of everyone in our community is our greatest priority.

Based on current health and safety measures, the earliest we will have permitted access to the fields is June 1 for small group training and July 1 for game play. While we are planning for a return-to-play with those dates in mind, our return is dependent on provincial restrictions being lifted. We will continue to keep you updated.

When we do return to the field, we cannot do this without you as parent volunteers. I can’t stress this enough. Return-to-play will mean every team must following strict COVID protocol rules every time they are at the field. We need volunteers on every single team to enforce protocols, keep lists for contact tracing and ensure that all enhanced cleaning measures are taking place. We also need volunteers to coach our teams. Without volunteers taking on these important jobs, we cannot run our baseball programs.

If you would like to volunteer, or have any questions or concerns, please email me at president@wexfordbaseball.com

We hope that you and your families are all well and staying safe this time and always.
