2020 Summer Wexford Agincourt baseball season SUSPENDED

We are extremely disappointed to announce that there will be no baseball at Wexford Agincourt Baseball League this summer. This announcement affects both house league and our select teams. The uncertainty that goes along with Covid 19 has led to many parents advising that they would be uncomfortable with having their young players participate in baseball this summer. Add to that the uncertainty of exactly when the City of Toronto and Province of Ontario will allow enough people to be on a diamond to actually play a game of baseball and the increased protocols necessary as per Baseball Ontario’s Return to Play Guidelines, we do not think it is feasible to run a season this summer.

While a summer without baseball at the ballparks saddens us, as we’re sure it does you, the safety of everyone in our community is our greatest concern. The COVID-19 pandemic is keeping us all apart like never before and we cannot safely operate house or select league play in a manner that would follow the social and physical distancing protocols that are currently in place and are expected to remain in place for much of the summer. The health and safety of our young players and their families is our greatest priority.

We are already working hard to plan for a great 2021 summer season and are hopeful it’ll be safe to hold small group fall ball training sessions in September. We will continue to monitor the situation closely but timelines are beyond our control as we continue to follow the advice and protocols put in place. We will continue to update you when we have more information.

If you have already registered your player for the summer season, a full refund will be processed in the coming days. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope that you and your families are well and staying safe during this time, and always.
