At this level, players learn to play baseball without developmental restrictions (although shorter base paths and mounds). All players further develop their basic baseball skills of hitting, throwing, catching and base running. In the field, players are encouraged to try every position and are given equal playing time.

During regular season play, the main focus is on development and trying all players in all positions. During the playoffs, coaches may choose to focus certain players in certain positions.

Depending on registration numbers, 13U House League teams may be combined (interlocked) with 13U House League teams from other Scarborough leagues for league play. The decision whether it is necessary to interlock will be made near the start of the season.

Teams play an inter-division schedule followed by playoffs at the end of the season.

There are two games and/or practices per week on Mondays and Wednesdays. (The first half of the season will be one practice and one game a week before moving to two games a week.)

13U is open to all boys and girls 12 and 13 years old. Players chosen to play on the Select team are also required to play on the House League team.

Games and practices will take place at either Wishing Well Park or Wexford Park. (See Park Maps)
