This update is to clarify a couple things. Wexford Agincourt runs both a House League and Select Program as well as a Rising Star Development Program.
HOUSE LEAGUE
All players that are registered are automatically enrolled into our HOUSE LEAGUE Program. The House League program is for players of all skill levels. During the spring training nights coming up in May, coaches will be evaluating players skill levels so that we can try to form teams that are competitively balanced.
By May 16th, you will receive a notification advising that YOUR BASEBALL PLAYER has been moved from the FREE AGENT LIST to a specific team number. That team number will be the team whose schedule you follow throughout the summer. Summer schedules will be released shortly after the teams are made.
SELECT TEAMS
This season we will again run SELECT (ALL-STAR ) teams in Rookie Ball, Mosquito and Peewee age groups. The Select teams are made up of players that wish to play at a more competitive level than just house league. Players for the Select teams are chosen from those that come to the tryouts.
The Select team members will play Select games against other Select teams from baseball leagues around Toronto on top of their regular House League schedules.
There is an additional cost to play Select. The minimum fee is $200 and goes up based on number of tournaments and/or extras (e.g. bat bags)
RISING STAR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
This program was developed by Wexford Agincourt Baseball League 2 seasons ago and acts as a step up to, and before, our Select programs. It is geared towards 6, 7 and 8 year olds to help improve skill level so that they may compete for positions on our select teams in the coming years. Coaches will hold weekly practices and up to 5 or 6 exhibition games throughout the summer. This group will also get entry into our end of season Rookie Ball Select Tournament where they will get exposure playing against more competitive teams for the first time. Additional Cost for this program is $75.
