Day 2 of the West Hill Rookie Ball Select tournament
found our Twins facing some tougher Competition. In game
3 of the Round Robin portion we defeated Brampton 7-0
thanks in large part to some outstanding Fielding by the
2 vacuums up the middle, Zach Elliott (GAME 3 MVP) and
Danny Mahoney. That gave us 1st place in our division
with a perfect 3 and 0 record.
In the Semi-Final game against a Joe Bowen (Holy
Mackinaw) coached Markham team we fell behind 2-0 early
but rallied back for a 7-2 victory. Robbie Vavaroutsos
(Little Bambino) was chosen game MVP for the second time
in the tournament.
The Championship game against an undefeated Orangeville
team was a see-saw affair that saw us pull to an early
2-0 lead before they tied it up. We then went ahead 5-2
before Orangeville tied it up again. Orangeville pulled
ahead 7-5 before we pulled even an inning later.
Orangeville then pulled ahead for good on their way to a
12-9 victory. The loss was the first for the Twins this
season and it came after 2 very tough days in the sun in
the very first tournament for most of these players. MVP
of the game for the Twins was Anthony Vavaroutsos. |
